Election 2006: GOPers say Jerry Brown Not Qualified to be Attorney General

Two Republicans including Tom Del Beccaro, chair of the Contra Costa Republican Party, are filing a lawsuit alleging that Jerry Brown does not meet the minimum qualifications to be attorney general. They’re holding a press conference this morning in Sacramento. The Sacramento Bee reports that the Reeps argue Brown “will run afoul of a state law if he wins next month because he reactivated his status in the State Bar in May 2003.” A Brown spokesman called the lawsuit frivolous.
