Former Oakland City Administrator Deborah Edgerly has sued the city, in an apparent effort to extract a lucrative settlement. According to the Trib, Edgerly filed the suit after she failed to land a job in a small town back east. In other words, it looks as if Edgerly is unemployable and she’s trying to score a payoff from her former employers. And as a longtime veteran of Oakland City Hall, she has to know that city officials rarely come across a lawsuit that they don’t want to settle.
