The San Francisco Chronicle food section wrapped up a James Beard Foundation Media Awards media award last night at ceremonies in New York City. It’s the second straight year the Chron was crowned as the nation’s best Wednesday section. This year’s media awards looked at food and beverage articles published in 2006, as well as food sections and TV, webcast, and radio programs. Speaking of TV, KQED’s Check Please! Bay Area, where civilian diners serve as amateur critics, snagged the award for best local television food show.
