Lots of restaurants offer happy hour specials, but Rockridge’s Marica is one of the only places we know of with an endless happy hour: All night, every night, you can have your fill of cheap cocktails, dollar oysters, and $5 appetizers. Marica is a seafood restaurant that’s sort of French-bistro-meets-a-healthy-sprinkling-of-Asian-fusion — the kind of place that would have been trendy in the early-2000s. But who cares about trendiness when the food is as good as Marica’s, and the service as warm? Endless happy hour means there’s no excuse not to get an order of piping-hot Prince Edward Island mussels, served in a decadent Pernod-shallot broth. For good measure, even if it isn’t listed on the menu, ask for a side of super-crisp pommes frites to help soak up all that lemony, buttery broth. The restaurant also has a great $26 three-course prix-fixe ($22 before 6:30) and offers a 10-percent discount for cash payments.
