We’ve waited many, many hours over the years for our food at Vik’s, and we’re still counting the days until our next visit. From the garbanzo curry that perks up the samosas and potato fritters to the zingy puffed-rice salads to the enormous, crisp dosas, Vik’s packs a lot of flavor into humble “snacks.” At its prices, even college students and Express writers can afford to eat well. The more substantial specials, ladled onto sectioned paper plates, can appear modest to the point of being unattractive. But once plastic spoon hits mouth, you’ll be enchanted all over again. Nowhere else, not even the most adventurous of white-tablecloth Indian restaurants, comes closer to the true flavors of India.
