This hole-in-the-wall storefront is so tiny that you could walk right by without even realizing it. But you don’t want to miss Catered To You — especially the signature fried fish sandwich, which is by far the most popular item on the menu at this Telegraph Avenue Cajun American food joint. $9 gets you a massive, freshly cooked fish sandwich, plus a generous serving of fries or a side salad. The latter is a good option if you’re not a big eater, because the sandwich alone will knock you out. But you won’t regret it. Owner and chef Teena Johnson sandwiches three pieces of fried swai fish (similar to catfish), lettuce, tomato, and red onions between two buns and covers the fried goodness in mayonnaise and a flavorful sauce she makes in-house (a combo of hot sauce, mustard, and ketchup). The sandwich is so filling that two semi-hungry people can easily share it and the side of fries and walk away with full stomachs. Johnson also blends her own seasoning for the above-average fries, which patrons can order separately — just $3 for a large basket. Catered To You, which has occupied the 300-square-foot space since 2008, is a great lunch spot and perfect late-night munchies stop on the weekend.
