East Bay Congresswoman Barbara Lee has promised to convene a new congressional panel to investigate the 2004 Haiti coup d’etat, as well as any possible American involvement. According to Counterpunch magazine, Lee introduced a similar motion in 2005, but got nowhere under the Republican leadership. Of course, it’s a different Congress now, and Lee might actually get somewhere in 2007. This, of course, is exactly what the Bush administration feared would happen if they lost in November.
