Miller Pushes Cheap Student Loans in Congress

Representative George Miller, chair of the House Committee on Education and Labor, is fast-tracking a plan to cut interest on student loans in half by 2011. According to the UC San Diego Guardian, the vote is scheduled for January 17. Some student advocates are upset that the legislative package will leave Pell Grants, the biggest student aid program, untouched at $4,050 a year.
