Is There Cancer In That Breastmilk?

In a recent issue of the American Journal of Epidemiology, Kaiser Permanente researcher Marilyn Kwan reports that women who catch penumonia, sexually transmitted diseases, or even the flu around the time of pregnancy significantly increase the risk of leukemia in their children. According to Reuters, the period of possible risk lies between three months prior to conception and the end of breastfeeding.
