SF vs. Ex-Oakland Mayor in Fight for Gay Marriage Rights

The city of San Francisco is launching a legal challenge to California’s ban on same-sex marriages. The city’s case before the California Supreme court will argue that, as SF City Attorney Dennis Herrera puts it, “A traditional injustice does not warrant perpetuation simply because it is traditional.” Guess who gets to defend the status quo? That’s right, newly-minted state Attorney General, Jerry Brown. That’s gonna be awkward.
