Berkeley and San Francisco War Protests Muted

Yesterday’s anti-war demos were smaller than one might expect; maybe anniversaries are overrated. Around 500 people marched around San Francisco’s Financial District, disrupting some car and Muni traffic. Pentagon Papers leaker Daniel Ellsberg and about 149 other people got busted for conducting a die-in and sitting down in the street in front of Senator Dianne Feinstein’s office, the Chron reports. The biggest event was a City Hall rally that drew several thousand people, including state Senator Carol Migden. (Hope she didn’t expense the trip to her campaign committee!)
