Poll: Oakland Cop Tax Has Decent Support

Oakland’s ballot measure to tax homes and hire 105 more cops enjoys the support of 61 percent of Oakland residents, according to a city-commissioned poll obtained by the Oakland Tribune. The measure needs a two-thirds majority to pass, so it’s hardly cruising to victory. Still, that’s considerably more support than might be construed from the local blogosphere’s pessimism and anti-tax mood.
