Could that be love in the air? Whatever it is, the East Bay’s biotech and high tech firms are in the mood for a merger or two. First, the Point Richmond-based Transept Pharmaceuticals has announced plans to merge with South San Francisco’s Novacea. And over in Pleasanton, software company iTrade Network Inc. plans to fuse its operations with Amphire Solutions of Redwood City. Both East Bay partners of the mergers will keep their names, subsuming their counterparts on the west side of the bay.
