Accused Oakland Cop on Paid Leave

The Oakland Tribune reports that Jeff Loman, the Oakland deputy chief who has been accused of sexually harassing a female subordinate, was placed on paid leave yesterday, in an apparent sign that the complaint against him is gathering strength. Outside investigators have completed their work on the case, but no conclusions have been published. This could well be the first time in the department’s history that a deputy chief has been suspended.
