UC Flack “Unintentionally” Misled Press

When the San Francisco Chronicle asked UC spokesperson Dan Mogulof how it was that bureaucrat Linda Williams could take a buyout at the UC office and immediately snag a UC Berkeley associate chancellor job that paid more or less the same amount, Mogulof replied that the job just came up at the last minute. Now, the Chron has obtained emails and other documents that show Williams and Cal Chancellor Robert Birgeneau both knew the job was coming up well in advance of her buyout. Mogulof says the whole thing was a big mistake, and he never intended to lie or mislead the public. Uh huh. Williams, meanwhile, still gets to keep her $100,000 buyout check.
