The Trib sez that Colorofchange.org, an Oakland civil rights organization, has submitted a petition to Alameda County District Attorney Tom Orloff, asking him to charge BART police officer Tony Pirone in connection with his actions on the night Johannes Mehserle allegedly shot Oscar Grant in the back. A cell phone video showed Pirone striding up to an apparently passive Grant and clocking him in the head; the cop’s attorney has previous claimed that Grant was in control of the situation, but that he was uncooperative, yadda yadda. Orloff refused to talk about the case, but mentioned that his office was still investigating the incident.
