Wildlife Poaching: Another Reason Not to Close Parks

Wildlife poaching in California has skyrocketed in the past few years, as the number of state game wardens has plummeted. According to the Chron, the illegal sale of state wildlife reaps about $100 million in annual sales, second only to the drug trade. And it’s about to get worse if the governor goes forward with his plan to close most of California’s state parks. Let’s hope Schwarzenegger is bluffing, otherwise the stealing and killing of wild animals could become rampant, especially in these tough economic times.
