Best Cheap Haircut

World Cuts

The recession’s got us all looking a little shabbier than usual. At
first glance, World Cuts looks a little like a last resort: The walls
are adorned with photos of Eighties-style teased and feathered
masterpieces, and much of the clientele looks like biochemistry majors
who have had the same hairstyle since junior high. But this unassuming
family-run hole-in-the-wall, right next to the unaffiliated UC Hair
Salon, is a well-kept secret that delivers fast, stylish, and cheap
haircuts to university students and money-minded folks. Even with a
bland exterior and minimal advertising, they’ve amassed a bit of a cult
following over the years of regular customers who refuse to go anywhere
else. The hairdressers here are surprisingly hip, competent, and eager
to please, particularly the manager, the super-friendly and personable
Rynae. Getting a walk-in appointment is usually not difficult, and
thirty minutes and $18 later ($15 for short hair), expect to walk out
looking like you just blew your paycheck in a chic San Francisco salon.
