One day after Oakland police brass boasted about the drop in officer-involved shootings this year, two city cops shot and killed a rape suspect. According to the Trib and the Chron, police say the suspect shot at officers as he tried to escape arrest yesterday afternoon in the city’s San Antonio District. The cops fired back and killed the suspect. If that version of events proves out, it looks like a legit shooting. It was the Oakland police department’s third officer-involved shooting of the year.
