Another Innocent Person Dies in Police Chase

A 25-year-old innocent bystander was killed and her young son severely injured in Oakland after police chased a driver who had allegedly been driving “erratically” and he slammed into the mother and her child. Oakland’s Acting Police Chief Howard Jordan said the tragic death of Marquita Bosley could have been avoided if the getaway driver Steven Reed had only pulled over. But a friend of Bosley’s told the Chron that she believes that police are partially to blame for Bosley’s death for conducting a high-speed chase in a residential area near an elementary school.
