Gavin Newsom Drops Out of Governor’s Race

San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom has dropped out of the governor’s race, the San Francisco Business Times reports. Newsom cited family reasons, but he has suffered from poor poll numbers and less than stellar campaign fund-raising. Newsom’s decision leaves state Attorney General and former Oakland Mayor Jerry Brown as the only major Democratic candidate in the race.
