The Oakland Teachers’ union is threatening a one-day strike on March 24 because the school board won’t agree to the union’s demand for a raise, the Trib reports. Union President Betty Olson-Jones says the union would rather settle, but if the union goes through with its threat, it will inconvenience tens of thousands of Oakland families.
