You Write Too Long: This Week’s Feature, Bite-Sized

First parks, now trees: this week, we see yet another example of the many ways in which the City of Oakland’s recent cuts have impacted quality of life. With nearly half of the city’s Tree Services Division facing deep cuts — nearly half of its staff were cut in November 2008, and further cuts could still come — Oakland is becoming literally overgrown, and the city named for an oak is forced to view its trees as hazards.
