Hibachi chefs here serve perfectly cooked USDA Choice Black Angus beef and savory and buttery seafood. Chef Daniel Yoon opened up his first Hana Japan in 1979, and since has opened several more, including in Berkeley in 2006. Hana Japan values Berkeley and the East Bay’s sense of community, tradition and family where generations of diners have celebrated milestones, birthdays and shared laughter at our tables. Make sure you get the famous fried rice, which is cooked with our homemade garlic butter that makes the rice melt-in-your-mouth delicious.

Hana Japan Steak and Seafood has for years been the go-to spot for birthdays. Hana Japan offers a free birthday entreé (up to $39 value, and up to $18 for children under 10) as long as guests bring in a party of four (4) or more guests, dine within a week of their birthday and show a valid ID. One thing that guests don’t realize, they can join during their birthday week for as many times as they’d like as long as they bring a party of four or more.
