This week, “Don’t Tread on Me“: Battle of the self-help gurus. East Bay real estate investment guide author John T. Reed posted uncomplimentary things about bigger, more popular real estate investment guide author Russ Whitney. Whitney sued, a total of four times. It didn’t work. Reed attached himself to Whitney’s fetlocks. The two self-help guys eventually settled out of court. Moral of story: If you insist on being a self-help guru, don’t compound your crimes by being an aggressive litigator when you’ve got dirty laundry in your closet.
