Kaiser Security Guards Strike

Well, this is odd. Security guards at various Kaiser Permanente locations, including the Hayward and Fremont hospitals, plan to walk off the job on Friday to protest their employer’s refusal to recognize the union or negotiate a contract. According to the Oakland Tribune, Kaiser has farmed out its security operation to Southern California’s Inter-Con Security, but guards plan to picket the hospital’s Oakland headquarters nonetheless.
