Forbes Gives Oakland A’s Junk-Bond Status

If it’s Oakland, it’s a safe bet that the country doesn’t think much of it. The latest case in point is the Oakland A’s, which were rated as the fourth-least-valuable team in Major League Baseball by Forbes Magazine. According to the East Bay Business Times, the A’s were worth a mere $323 million, while the San Francisco Giants were ranked the eighth most valuable, even without Barry Bonds. But at least we’re not the Florida Marlins, which came in dead last. How’s that for a heartwarming slogan?
