Jonestown Remembered at Evergreen Cemetery

Roughly one hundred people gathered yesterday at Oakland’s Evergreen Cemetery to honor the Jonestown dead and unveil the first section of a new memorial to the tragedy. Ultimately, the memorial will consist of seven slabs, on which are inscribed the names of the victims. Memorial organizers displayed two of the slabs yesterday, and hope to have the remaining five finished by this time next year. According to the Chron, Jim Jones’ name will not be on the list of victims.
