Thanksgiving? What Thanksgiving?

Apparently, not even the holidays can interrupt the important business of Oaklanders shooting each other. According to the Trib, five people were wounded, one critically, in two separate East Oakland shootings yesterday. Meanwhile, neighbors on Grande Vista Avenue held a vigil to support the 80-year-old woman who was recently beaten by a pack of young men. The woman, who has been a fixture of the neighborhood and was often seen collecting bottles and cans to recycle, is recovering in a hospital.
