Quickie Protest About BART Shooting

Last night, the Chron sez, at least 100 demonstrators tried to get something started about the late Oscar Grant in downtown San Francisco, but riot cops kicked into overdrive and dispersed the crowd before anything serious happened. The crowd started near Civic Center and headed down Market Street, slowing growing in size; BART officials closed all stations along the route to avoid any confrontations. A small group splintered off and broke for Union Square, starting small fires along the way. But police intervened quickly, forcing protesters to disperse. The affair was over before you knew it.
