hour. So where can you turn? The Oakland Center for Holistic
Counseling, run by graduate students at John F. Kennedy University, is
a great way to get support at an affordable rate. Opened 28 years ago,
the school and top-notch counseling center offers individual and group
counseling in several areas, including couples’ therapy, sexual trauma,
life transitions, sexuality, grief, creativity, depression, anxiety,
and women’s and men’s issues. And because the staff consists primarily
of graduate students who are studying various areas of therapeutic
treatment, they cater to all ages — from young children to senior
citizens. All patients are charged on a sliding scale, based on income.
