Officials Try to Save NUMMI

State and local officials are proposing tens of millions of dollars of incentives to keep Toyota from closing its NUMMI auto plant in Fremont. According to the Contra Costa Times, the incentives, which are outlined in a letter to NUMMI from Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger, Alameda County Supervisor Scott Haggerty, and Fremont Mayor Bob Wasserman could top $50 million.
