In conjunction with the Magnes museum’s opening exhibition Case Study No. 3 | Sound Objects, which looks at the role of sound-emitting objects during synagogue rituals, “Purim: A Diaspora Story in Jewish Art and Folklore,” a lecture by Hebrew University of Journalism professor Shalom Sabar, will discuss the meaning and relevance of Purim through the material objects that have come to represent it.
