Seven of the eleven Oakland police officers that the city planned to fire for falsifying search warrant affidavits are coming back to work, according to the Trib. The officers had lied on search warrant affidavits, swearing under oath that illegal drugs had been tested by the police department’s crime lab when they had not. The falsifications resulted in charges being dropped against twelve defendants, while placing dozens of other cases in doubt.
