.On the Other Hand, the Bay Ridge Trail Sure is Pretty

The Oakland Tribune has a nice little story about some 75 people who rode their horses along a stretch of the Bay Ridge Trail to draw attention to it. The riders spurred their steeds (not literally, we presume) from Castro Valley to Pinole, encouraging hikers and campers to make the trail a regular part of their itinerary, and the Bay Area Ridge Council provided horse masseuses to reward the equine oat-eaters after a hard day of clumping along in a row. Admit it: that’s pretty cute. Trail advocates intend to ultimately encircle the San Francisco bay with trails and campgrounds, a project that is expected to take at least fifteen more years.
