Chilean President Michelle Bachelet arrives in Berkeley today, touring Cal and Lawrence Berkeley lab in search of solutions to the country’s crippling energy shortage. According to the Chron, Chile has depended on Argentina for natural gas shipments and hydroelectricity, but its neighbor to the east recently decided to keep its power for domestic consumption. Bachelet has come to scope out other options, such as solar, geothermal, and wind energy.
